By now we’ve all heard of gamification in the classroom, but how do we even start? EdX.org is now hosting a gameful learning course to encourage engaged and successful learners.
This course, brought to us as a part of the Microsoft K-12 Education Leadership program, is presented by The University of Michigan with the aim of encouraging engaged and personalised learning in our classrooms.
In fact, this course looks at the elements that make games such rich learning environments. They then use these elements to build curricula that meet our students’ personal needs. And most importantly we can now develop gameful learning environments that keep students motivated and eager to learn.
During this course, educators will learn the value of gameful learning and how to encourage successful learners. Furthermore, they show us how to design a gameful curriculum that engages and supports both learners and teacher alike. And finally how the thoughtful use of technology can supplement learning.
This introductory course in gamification takes only eight weeks to complete and is completely free to view and use. However, if you’d like to add a verified certificate, it will only cost 49 USD.
